TH!NK GLOBAL is the new owner of the electric car producer TH!NK. Formerly part of the Ford Motor Company, TH!NK was taken over by a group of Norwegian investors in March 2006. Our goal is to make TH!NK the leading electric car producer in the world .

Backgrounder

The electric car is back, capturing public attention and imagination. The confluence of climate change, high fuel prices, the success of hybrids, improved technology, and other factors have brought new attention to electric vehicles.

A Brief History

TH!NK began its life in the mid 1990s, developed by a Norwegian company named PIVCO (for Personal Independent Vehicle Company). PIVCO's third-generation vehicle, launched in 1995, was named CityBee in Europe and Citi in USA. In 1995-96, 120 CityBees/Citi's were built, with over a third shipped to California to participate the Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) station car program. The CityBee also won the Scandinavian Electric Car rally in 1995.

Shaping the New Company

TH!NK City is a great little car, developed by enthusiastic Scandinavian designers, and under Ford’s leadership grew into a fully developed car concept ready for global production.
